Using Coffee as Paint
Coffee is monochromatic - it only comes in one color. That should not be seen as a limitation. One color offers an infinite palette of possibilities. A wide range of rich brown hues enhance, texture, shadows and depth can be achieved. The organic quality and aroma of coffee also become a part of your enjoyment while painting. If you are already an experienced painter you will be surprised and hopefully inspired by the “beyond paint” possibilities coffee has when used as a painting medium. Painting with coffee is similar to traditional watercolor painting. Watercolor painters are intrigued by the unexpected possibilities painting with coffee has to offer. Some of the techniques and qualities are only available when painting with coffee. Working with just one color simplifies the painting experience. Painting with coffee is mostly about adding layers and having the patience to allow each layer to completely dry. It offers something for all levels of painting experience.
