The participants in my first workshop didn't really believe that they could "make art" but they were willing to show up and give it a shot. I asked each person to bring a shot of espresso and I believed that if they were willing to give it a try they were going to see in a matter of an hour that they could express themselves with painting. If you have even a slight passion for looking at art it is being triggered from a place within—you just need to access it. I still can't figure out what is so safe about painting with coffee but I can clearly see it's potential. Painting with coffee can erase inhibiting beliefs of creative doubt.
